This project explores the potential impact of COVID-19 on child mental health short-term and long-term, leveraging a 23-year longitudinal cohort of children from predominantly urban, low-income, Black, and Hispanic families. It analyzes changes in psychiatric encounters and specific diagnoses before and during the US COVID-19 outbreak. Aim 1 examines the changes of the psychiatric encounters before and during the first two years of the pandemic. Aim 2 investigates factors that may modify changes of the psychiatric encounters during the pandemic.
