The HPC Cores (Development, Scientific, and Administrative) provide services to HPC Associates to develop innovative, multidisciplinary research in the HPC Primary Research Areas:

Development Core

The Development Core supports early-career associates (ECAs) and interdisciplinary research through funding, mentorship, and workshops. It offers grants for skill-building, one-on-one mentoring, and research development programs, including grant writing and themed working groups. The core also runs a Pilot Research Program, funding innovative projects aligned with HPC’s goals, including special calls like COVID-19 research.

Scientific Core

The Scientific Core enhances research with expertise in sociology, biostatistics, and data analytics. It offers services in sensor data, biomarkers, demographic measurement, and causal inference, along with digital and panel survey methods. Researchers benefit from Method Improvement Funds, workshops, consultations, and high-memory servers, including a secure “Cold Room” for confidential data analysis.

Administrative Core

The Administrative Core supports HPC research and education by managing grants, ensuring compliance, and organizing key activities. It oversees Research Theme Groups, Methods Seminars, and educational programs like boot camps and practicums. It also runs the Monthly Seminar Series, Annual Symposia, and outreach efforts to share HPC Faculty Associates’ research with broader communities.
