The potential role of early childhood programs on reducing suicide risk in adulthood: An assessment through crowdsourcing

Associate Name: Emily Haroz

Funding Source/Period of the Grant: HPC & IDIES co-funded pilot 1/1/2018-8/31/2018

The overall goal of this pilot project is to lay the foundation for a larger project to examine the impact of home visiting programs (HVPs) on community suicidal behavior rates. Herein, we lay out a series of activities that would provide insights into the impact of HVPs, while developing rigorous procedures targeted for the future analysis of longitudinal HVP data when it becomes available. We will merge data from national datasets
to inform a simulation model for suicide risk, generate extensive simulations of childhood development at the individual level, and set up a crowd-sourcing platform to assist us in analyzing the complex pathways through which HVPs can impact suicide risk.
